Seeing is Belizean
By Dr. Chuck Pollak, Sharing InternationalThe intensive conference featured fourteen contextualized workshops spanning the topics of public relations, audio production, management, film and television production, engineering and lighting. The team of ei ght instructors was led by Chuck Pollak (Sharing) and Dan Wynia (Northwestern) and was composed of Belizean and American media industry professionals and college faculty.
The strong partnership between Sharing, Northwestern and the Belizean broadcasters started in 1994. Since then, local believers have established thirteen Christian radio stations, canvassing the entire country. They also started a growing Christian television network that serves the bulk of the population. All this is supported by a unique fellowship of Christian Belizean media professionals.

Sharing and its U.S. partners have returned several times over the years when asked by local believers to teach more advanced seminars and do focused consulting. Through the years, the instructors have enjoyed seeing the Belizeans grow in their skills and confidence.
For the past twenty plus years, Sharing International has been partnering with national leaders and groups wanting to reach their own people for Christ using the media; sometimes long before private radio or television is allowed. Once organized and trained, the national groups are prepared to take advantage of opportunities as soon as free broadcasting is allowed.
Plans for 2009 call for Sharing Seminars in Eastern Europe and Africa. Sharing looks forward to coming along side Christians in many other countries, in the future.
