Dominican Rep. Project Information:
The Need
As we visit haitian refugees in the rubble, we are struck by their joy in the midst of the aweful circumstances--
Sharing International and Mission Direct work on the northern "Amber Coast." Ascencion Village is a mix of resettled Dominicans and Haitian immigrant workers, given new hope by teams. Local "housing" for sugar cane workers is aweful with poor sanitation, exposure to weather, and closet-sized living areas. Teams help build dwellings with some basic sanitation and adequate shelter from weather.
Build a Home
Just $1195 plus airfare covers in-country food, lodging, local transport, and some site seeing. Sharing personnel meet you at the airport and arrange the details for a real impact through your mission trip!

Share Your Life!
Your church group CAN make a difference! People were dying before missionary Elio Medonia and his sponsors and teams came to help provide shelter. Sharing Teams partner with him and others to construct housing for destitute families, along with other works to meet the needs of the people.

Future Focus
These basic dwellings in the new "Ascension Village" offer a huge step up from the hopelessness endured by the people here. Many of these new home-owners get on their feet and improve their own living conditions, learning trades, opening shops, and adding rooms and upgrades to homes provided.
