A Different Story
At times our teams have a chance to go from house to house to share the Good News! This can be daunting in our normal environment, but here it is a different story. The majority of homes will be opened to you with enthusiasm. People respect the fact that you have come from so far away. They will usually already know why you are here. They know we are involved in a Christian work to help their community.
Jump Right In!
The best way to start is to ask outright for permission to come in and talk about God. You don’t have to beat around the bush. Also when using a translator it is better to come to the point. Normally no matter what the beliefs of the person you are talking to, they will greatly appreciate your prayers on behalf of their family for any needs they may have. Some training on sharing the main points of the Gospel is given by Sharing staff. But team members who have followed Jesus for a while are also able to help those who have never been a personal witness in this way before.
