Sandra continues with the ministry to the people and community of Aguas Negras in various different areas of service. She has the respect and love of the community and many come to her with their concerns and requests. She does speak some English now and she is trying to learn more English.
The building is being used for many purposes, including but not limited to:
- School with various classes for children and adults happening at various times of the weekdays and weekends.
- Site for visiting medical and dental teams to set up clinics and serve the community.
- Small permanent medical clinic upstairs offering basic services and medications.
- Library containing primarily Christian Spanish & educational materials and they are available for sign out.
- Computer lab used for the children and others in learning computer skills and research on the internet.
- Bible studies and Prayer Meetings.
There is a sign on the front and inside the building acknowledging their thanks to God and to the many who have been involved over the last few years.
Sandra has also rented part of a small building and have set up a sewing micro-enterprise project. They have sewing machines, some which require electricity and others that can be used with foot-pedal power. Sandra’s mom, Maria Pena, is primarily training and overseeing this aspect. They are selling their products.
Sandra has a future vision for an Internet room for the community, though this would require newer computers, software, phone lines and regular electricity. The community continues to have power outages and that would be a problem.
Prayer Requests:
- Stability and peace with Rafael & Sandra’s relationship – presently they are separated.
- Teachers and children in the program – that God would grow and strengthen the school and that it may it be an environment to learn both educationally, but also of the love of our Heavenly Father.
- Financial provision for the needs for the ministry in the community of Aguas Negras.
- The community of Aguas Negras to be won for Jesus Christ
