Story: Windows of Joy

August 2005

With a slight smile, the Haitian mother cleaned the rough wooden slats—the blinds for the window in the front wall of her home.  She was singing.  It was over 100 degrees and no air-conditioning to be found in Ascension village.  The walls of the home are rough, concrete block.  But the smile and the song came from pure joy.  Church teams had built her small home and given her family a hope for escape from terrible poverty.

We just completed four more homes in the Dominican Republic.  They are rough by our standards, but for the poor who live with less than cardboard for a home, they are a palace.  Church teams are making a real difference bringing hope in the form of physical care and bringing answers through the showing of the Jesus Film in the language of the people.  Thank you so much for helping us to bring teams to where the needs are so great.  When you give or come, or even pray for this village, you are a hero in our book, and the lives of the poor are changed forever!  May God bless you.
