Liberia--Accommodations: Meals

Local Restaurants

Meals on the mission field are always an adventure! They are a way to experience the culture; they provide time for the team to fellowship and relax; they give us the chance to get to know the people and friends we make on the field. Mamba Point Restaurant

Local restaurants have grown up around the many U.N. and foreign agency offices. These establishments cater to the needs of "expats" and usually are up to a standard that reduces potential health hazards. Teams find these places to be a haven and a rest from the hard work of the day, and a chance to refresh in an environment that encourages fellowship with new friends. Come join us for the work, and the life-long friendships which grow out of the experience!

Project Sites

Some meals are served to us at local project sites. The locally prepared meals are sometimes served to us by those who have very little. Their desire is to bless us for coming from so far to serve. They give the best they have to say thank you.

On days off we may have opportunities to visit the local seashore. There are usually
restaurants which provide meals right on the beach! You will experience the potential there is in Liberia--to attract tourists and utilize the natural beauty that seems to stream out of even the most difficult places. Seashore Lunch

Main Goal

Our goal is to work hard to insure that meals are prepared in such a way that we avoid the sickness sometimes associated with foreign travel. Different foods may not always agree. Sickness can sometimes be a part of the sacrifice of the trip. However, we do endeavor to arrange for nutritious, safely prepared meals.
