Liberia--Accommodations: Rooms
Current Status
Liberia was devestated by a fourteen-year civil war. As such, accommodations in and around Monrovia are difficult to find. Each outreach date may be booked with different accommodations than the last.
Our goal is to locate relatively secure and moderately comfortable lodging for teams in close proximity to the city. This could mean a guest house, or dorm-style mission quarters. There are nice hotels, but rates are generally much higher than our team budget. If we are able to negotiate with proprietors and reach an agreement, then some teams will be based there.
You should be ready to "rough it," but with the knowledge that our staff will find the most suitable place possible in such a desperate area. Details change from time to time, so check back as your trip date approaches.
