Liberia--Accommodations: Security

National and Local

There are security concerns in every mission location. With Liberia having just gone through an extended civil war, the implications go both ways. There is a measure of increased safety with the presence of 15,000 UN peacekeeping troops. There is, however, an instability inherent in ongoing power outages, weakness in the infrastucture of government services, and desperation on the part of those who have so little. Check the US STATE DEPARTMENT for updates and travel advisories. Sharing International does not undertake orphan relief in nations that are in the midst of hostilities, but there are risks that team and staff members should weigh thoughtfully and prayerfully before deciding to come.

Team Locations

Accommodations chosen by staff are evaluated with security in mind. While conditions will not match what you are used to at home, we do work to find safe and reasonably secure lodging for all staff and teams.
