Liberia Project Information: Food Distribution
The Plan
The first time we saw Liberian children at a local orphanage, they were starving--not one or two children, but nearly all were affected. The plan for these homes for children simply MUST incorporate meeting basic needs as well.
Goals
- We will work to find a sponsor or church for each orphanage who will commit to send $200 US for food each month as well as to commit to pray for the children and project regularly.
- Agriculture is important for long-term sustainability. We will partner with organizations that specialize in agriculture that can teach children and directors how to produce their own food.
- We train directors, helpers and children on health, nutrition, and sanitary issues.
Many non-profit organizations in Liberia have their hands tied when it comes to serving the least developed homes for kids. If we can get these orphanages up to standard, the children will get the care they need. The Liberian government has requested help for over seventy orphanages. If you can't go, consider SPONSORING AN ENTIRE ORPHANAGE for $50,000.
