Liberia Project Information
The Need
We have seen first-hand the starving, the naked, and the dying orphans in Africa. We are not content to just forget. We are committed long-term to help them and will work and partner with others to make this a reality. Here is a SUMMARY of an orphanage project we accompolished with Mercy Ships in 2006.
Goals
- Complete orphanage reconstruction projects to bring these orphanages to sanitary standards.
- Find a sponsor/or church for each orphanage project who will commit to send a minimum of $200 for food subsidies each month for a two year commitment as well as to commit to pray for these children and project on a regular basis.
- Find free health care with partner organizations.
- Partner with an organization that specializes in agriculture that can teach the children and directors how to garden to produce their own food as well as provide seeds.
- Train the directors, helpers and children on health and nutrition, sanitary issues.
- Assess their schooling needs and provide school supplies, as funds are available per project.
- Evaluate the progress of each orphanage regularly
Many non-profit organizations in Liberia have their hands tied when it comes to serving the least developed homes for kids. If we can get these orphanages up to standard, the children will get the care they need. The Liberian government has requested help for over seventy orphanages. If you can't go, consider SPONSORING AN ENTIRE ORPHANAGE for $50,000.
