People
The People of Liberia have been through so much, yet in many faces something shines through that reveals a strength, sometimes a desperate determination to live in spite of the circumstances. The children especially have such a resilience. It is this kind of childlike spark that can sometimes break your heart.
Even within the main city, and especially in the more rural areas, the people continue in the centuries-old ways-of-life. From hunting/gathering to traditional dances and dress, Liberia is definitely a place to observe a culture that sometimes seems lost in time.
