Sierra Leone: Rooms
Officially a three star hotel, the hotel 5-10 is closer to a nice budget hotel. Rooms have twin single beds with bathroom attached. There is usually no hot water available, though it may be added by now. There are hot water tanks installed, but we have never been able to make the hot water work! The rooms are air-conditioned, but local power is almost nonexistent. The hotel has its own electrical generator from 7 pm to 7 am, but if the hotel is only partially full then the generator goes off at midnight, (7 gallons of diesel per hour at 11,500 leones per gallon…one dollar is about 3000 leones) so it can get warm in the early morning hours.
